IngatestoneHall
HydeHall

IngatestoneHallAn imposing 16th century mansion in 11 acres of grounds built by Sir William Petre, Secretary of State to four Tudor monarchs, and still occupied by his descendants.

Elizabeth 1 stayed here on her Royal progress of 1561.

The house largely retains its original Tudor form and appearance (including two priest hiding places) and is filled with family portraits, furniture and memorabilia accumulated over the centuries.

There is a tea room and gift shop.
